Maisie first came into the hub after her business closed. she had been doing a beauty and nails role from home, which was great but not making deal of money. maisie's main problem that no idea what to do next.
A member of the Hub team met with Maisie and undertook some careers support. We looked at her interests/ skills and matched her to different roles. Maisie took away some ideas to research, one being a customer service role, which has the possibility
of working from home.
On our follow up appointment Maisie came with Millie her sister. Maisie had done her research and was supported to apply for a role at Santander, a call centre-based customer service role.
During this appointment Maisie’s sister Millie was asked what she was up to at present. Millie had just completed a degree at university and was looking at options to become a Teaching Assistant. Millie was asked if she would consider being
a teacher. She had thought about this before but didn't think it was possible. What Millie wanted was experience, rather than topping up her degree. Millie was shown the Hub websites
Resource Directory.
The Hub team always make sure they know what opportunities are available, so they can give the best advice possible. On this occasion we knew that Lingfield Education Trust SCITT were recruiting for Trainee Teachers (where Millie can learn on the job and become a qualified Teacher).
Maisie had her interview at Santander – She got the Job!
Millie had her interview – She got a place on course to become a Teacher!
Double Success and both really excited to start their new chapters!!
